Today Saint Sister releases a remixed version of ‘Causing Trouble’ by Irish DJ and producer
Kormac, featuring Dublin-based rapper Jafaris. This unique collaboration came about after all three artists were involved with network provider Three Ireland for their #MadebyMusic initiative each working with Three to create a visually stunning music video for one of their songs. ‘Made by Music’ celebrates the power of music to unite people and with the release of this unique take on Saint Sister’s ‘Causing Trouble’ these artists have made the ultimate music connection.

The remix of ‘Causing Trouble’, taken from Saint Sister’s debut album ‘Shape of Silence’,
features some of the best up-and-coming talent from Ireland’s thriving underground music
scene. The track is remixed by producer Kormac, who has been championed by an array of
well-renowned talent from Annie Mac to DJ Yoda, and features rising hip-hop artist Jafaris.

On working with Kormac and Jafaris, Saint Sister says:

“It’s good to get out of your own head and collaborate with other people, and it’s something
we really enjoy doing. This one felt like it really clicked, each individual voice brought
something so different. When Kormac first sent through the remix it was like hearing it in a
new context with a new lease of life. Hearing Jafaris’ verses for the first time was another brilliant moment. And playing it live is the best part. They bring so much energy to every performance, it’s always a joy to stand beside them on stage.”

On the collaboration, Kormac says:

“I love the idea of blending two really different artists tonality together to create something a
bit different.  Producing this one was a lovely challenge as it was all about creating a space
where Saint Sister’s gorgeous melodies and harmonies and Jafaris’ vocals, his delivery
could sit side by side. The initial idea just came from playing my piano to a glitchy loop
created from one of Gemma’s harp lines. From there, it was all about bringing the sub bass
to the fore and creating a couple of drops to really announce Jafaris’ vocals when they came
in.”

Saint Sister released their debut record ‘Shape of Silence’ last month. The remarkable
twelve-track debut explores themes of human connection, relationships, loss and longing. It
was inspired by the connections between people and the importance of figuring out yourself
in relation to another person. ‘Shape of Silence’ was recorded with long term co-producer
Alex Ryan of Hozier.

Shape of Silence’ follows Saint Sister’s well-received debut EP ‘Madrid’, released in 2015.
Title track ‘Madrid’ reached over 2 million streams and was playlisted through ‘Introducing’
on BBC Radio 1. The EP drew the attention of Lisa Hannigan who invited the band to open
for her on the 20 date ‘At Swim’ European tour. To date, the band have amassed over 6
million streams combined.

Saint Sister is Gemma Doherty and Morgan MacIntyre, hailing from the North of Ireland
(Derry and Belfast respectively). The pair met in Dublin just after graduating from college
and bonded over their shared journey from north to south as well as a passion for music and words. After finishing an extensive US and Australian tour, Saint Sister joined Hozier on a number of his tour dates across Europe this winter. The band’s next headline show is at King’s Place, London on December 12.
