Bio:

Holy Wave’s new record ‘Adult Fear’ arrives March 30 via The Reverberation Appreciation Society. The record sees the Austin quintet forging deeper into hazy synths and expansive melodies, coalescing their myriad of influences into a signature sound.

Holy Wave is a band of multi-instrumentalists from El Paso, Texas, USA. Since making a move to Austin in 2008, they have cemented themselves as a unique force in the national and international touring circuit. After perennial performances at Levitation (Austin Psych Fest) and countless tours and festival appearances in the USA, Europe and Latin America, Holy Wave is poised to continue expanding into new spaces and places around the world. The band has 2 LPs and 3 EPs (The Reverberation Appreciation Society, Burger Records, Volante Discos) under their belt, and will release their 3rd LP ‘Adult Fear’ on March 30, 2018. Holy Wave’s debut 2014 album ‘Relax’ put the band on the map internationally and was well received by critics, including Pitchfork and Paste Magazine. ‘Relax’ saw the band testing their abilities in songwriting and sound-craft and was followed by ‘Freaks of Nurture’ in 2016, which showed great evolution in composition and melody, and saw Holy Wave finding a style and sound all their own. The record received praise from the likes of Consequence of Sound, and Glide Magazine. Holy Wave closed out 2017 with performances in Austin, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

In support of ‘Adult Fear’, Holy Wave will tour the USA, Europe and Latin America extensively in 2018.

“They’ve got the far-off, dreamy vocal wash of the shoegazers, but their guitars and hooks are anything but subtle, invoking the tone of early Kinks or Nuggets acts on ‘Psychological Thriller’.” – Pitchfork

“Austin five-piece Holy Wave is certainly dreamy in a sense, but theirs is the kind of dream that’s more vivid than blurry, more present than passing.” – Consequence of Sound

“There’s a touch of melancholy lurking under all the sepia-drenched warmth, but make no mistake–this is asleep-in-the-sunlight bliss.” – Under the Radar

“It’s a garage-rock lover’s garage-rock album, unabashedly embracing of Zombies-like slacker psalms and clunky guitar manipulations.” – Paste
