Kathryn Calder will be embarking on her FIRST ever tour of the United States and Canada in support of her critically acclaimed debut album Are You My Mother? Kathryn and her band full of a virtual who’s who of the Canadian music scene will not only be playing songs from AYMM? but also throwing in some NEW material from an upcoming album that she is in the midst of finishing. Music fans were first introduced to Kathryn through her now defunct band, Immaculate Machine. Her fan base grew when she joined indie darlings, The New Pornographers. It was with the release of Are You My Mother? in 2010, that the music world became completely convinced that Calder was an important music figure in her own right. Fan interest became quickly apparent when the first single “Slip Away,” from AYMM? was released and crashed her website not only once, but twice due to high traffic. The accompanying video quickly shot up to 250,000 views on Youtube, and two of the songs from AYMM? were also featured on the hit televsion show “Being Human” on the SYFY Network. Anticipation for this tour (and a follow up album hint hint) has been at an all time high.
To kick off the tour Kathryn is giving away the song “If You Only Knew” which is a song inspired by life on the road.
