Beach Fossils teams up with Urban Outfitters, shares video for “Adversity”

By June 17, 2011No Comments

The “Adversity” video is the product of a collaboration between Urban Outfitters, Beach Fossils, and director Ian Perlman. Urban Outfitters was a big fan of the band’s What a Pleasure EP, and thought Beach Fossils would be a great creative partner for their second Urban-produced video (in February they produced and premiered a video for Toro Y Moi’s “New Beat”).

Director Ian Perlman, a student at SVA, conceived and created the video along with frontman Dustin Payseur, and enlisted the talent of an extensive circle of friends and young filmmakers.

Biography

Following the critically acclaimed self-titled debut, Beach Fossils released the beautifully crafted EP, What a Pleasure, on March 8, 2011 on Captured Tracks. On this brilliant new release Dustin Payseur shares songwriting duties with bassist John Peña which makes for their most dynamic songs yet. Also, on “Out in the Way” Payseur teams up with the talented Jack Tatum of Wild Nothing for a song that reveals both artists’ visions in a way that the world has yet to hear. What a Pleasure is full of clean, simple guitar lines that build up to melancholic endings. The mature sound and cleaner production value on What a Pleasure presents glimpses of where Beach Fossils have been and where they aim to go.
