Real Estate announces North American tour dates for Fall with Big Troubles, reveals album cover art & pre-order details for Days

New Jersey outfit Real Estate announces North American tour dates in support of their second album and Domino debut, Days, on October 18th (17th in UK). The tour starts in Chicago on Halloween, heads west, then turns to the south and wraps up with a homecoming show at NYC’s-famed Bowery Ballroom, getting them home just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

Pitchfork declared Days’ lead single “It’s Real” a Best New Track praising the band for their ‘love and inherent knowledge of beautifully understated pop moments’, stream it HERE. Days is also now available to pre-order on Compact Disc, Cassette and Vinyl. The exclusive Domino Mart vinyl pre-order includes a white label bootleg 12″ of the band’s June 30, 2011 live performance at Brooklyn venue 285 Kent Ave, limited to only 300 copies! The band previewed the album in its entirety for those lucky enough to be in attendance, and thankfully NYC Taper was there to capture the greatness. Again, only while supplies last! Pre-order HERE.

Days was recorded over the course of five patient months in a remote New Paltz, NY barn-cum-studio with the help of Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, The Walkmen), is a coming of age moment for childhood friends Martin Courtney (Guitar and Vocals), Matt Mondanile (Guitar) and Alex Bleeker (Bass): a gorgeous suite of guitar-pop songs. Days is a testament to the fact that the sonic formula Real Estate developed and shared with their debut album (Real Estate, Woodsist 2009) heralded the arrival of a new, genuine and enduring group of voices in American independent music. Days sees the band tighten and refine their brand of timeless, melodic and genuine music- consolidating the breezy sketches of their earlier work into considered, graceful pop songs.

The cover art for Days, revealed here for the first time, is a photo from esteemed visual artist Dan Graham entitled Row of New Tract Houses, Bayonne NJ 1966 from Homes for America.

And lastly, Real Estate will soon reveal details of a FREE album release show in October in the New York area, so keep a careful watch on their Twitter @realestateband for more details.
