WHY? mastermind Yoni Wolf is rounding up his main men for a trio of rare, unplugged-style shows in NYC & CT previewing songs from their much anticipated, still untitled fifth album. Multi-instrumentalists Josiah Wolf and Doug McDiarmid will be on hand for these intimate shows where people sit down, cozy up, and listen well. Most of the set will be previously unheard, culled from the ongoing writing and recording sessions for WHY?’s next LP, which looks to build upon the taut folk-rap and swaggerful psych-pop of 2008’s Alopecia. Fan favorites, cult classics and covers are to be expected as well, alongside highlights from the band’s most recent record, Eskimo Snow (2009). At each stop, the crowd will be seated, treated to behind-the-scenes jaw-jacking, and given the chance to ask questions. To top it off, WHY? will be selling numbered, hand-screened posters for the tour.
