The Fresh & Onlys have officially signed to Brooklyn’s Mexican Summer and will release its fourth official full-length on the label in the first half of 2012. The band is currently working at Lucky Cat Studios in San Francisco with producer & engineer Phil Manley (Wooden Shjips, Moon Duo, Les Savy Fav, Grass Widow, etc.) wrapping up the recording sessions for the new record.

The band spoke with SPIN about their new album – read the exclusive interview here

The band’s most recent full-length, last year’s Play It Strange (In The Red) was received with wide acclaim from an enormous amount of press outlets including Spin Magazine. It was also #29 on Pitchfork’s top 50 albums of the year. In 2010, The Fresh & Onlys toured with Deerhunter and Clinic, and performed at the Matt Groening curated ATP in Minehead England. In 2011 the band released the Secret Walls EP on the Sacred Bones label, did several headlining tours and played the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. Heralded as “one of rock’s hardest working bands,” they head out on tour in early 2012 with Disappears for a West Coast run of dates, with more 2012 dates TBA soon.
